Data is coming in faster than we have time to analyze it.
This situation is not unique, new techniques may be needed.
Our data is messy and unstructured, traditional techniques
are not helping.
Much has been done in the last few years to improve on traditional
techniques. Taking the best from the old and adding some new
may be the answer.
Our problems and our data are complex. We are concerned that
we are not getting full value from the data
Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) techniques can be used to
see what may be hidden in the data. The best analysts are
always searching for new ways to get information, but perhaps
new ideas are needed.
Our best analysts are not good at communicating what they
have found.
The problem may not be your analysts. Most organizations
are not ready to hear about detailed analyses. Traditional
presentation training does not deal with the issues a technical
analyst faces.
Our organization is resistant to the change needed as seen
by our research.
Understanding the fears that drive the resistance to change
can improve the acceptance of those new findings.
